Solar & Home Battery Electrical Integration
Electrical tie-ins, distribution changes and load planning for solar and battery projects. Define PDI Electric’s electrical scope alongside the equipment supplier and other installers.
Discuss Electrical Integration →
PDI Electric supports the electrical work behind solar and battery projects, including tie-ins, inverter connections, distribution changes and load planning. For homeowners in Atco and nearby South Jersey communities, the first step is to clarify the role of each system and the scope each contractor will provide.
Define the outcome
Are you adding solar generation, trying to keep selected circuits running during an outage, or coordinating storage with a future EV? Those goals lead to different equipment and operating requirements. Describe the result you want in plain language. A list of product names alone does not establish how the finished system should behave.
Review the electrical interfaces
Panel capacity, inverter requirements, distribution, disconnects and the proposed interconnection all need to be considered together. Share the system design and exact model information with the electrical team. An existing solar system does not automatically make a proposed battery compatible, and adding storage does not automatically provide whole-home backup.
Plan backup loads deliberately
Battery capacity and power output describe different limits. The selected equipment, connected loads and operating strategy determine what can run and for how long. Begin with a priority list and identify loads you can manage or leave off. Avoid a universal runtime promise: the answer depends on the actual system and use.
Clarify electrical work versus complete system supply
Equipment selection, roof work, electrical installation, utility applications, commissioning and ongoing monitoring may involve different parties. Agree who is responsible for each item. PDI Electric's proposal should identify its electrical role; this page does not imply a particular manufacturer's authorization or a complete rooftop-solar package.
Include other electrification plans
An EV charger, electric appliance or heating-system change can affect the same property. Bring these plans into the review rather than treating each as a separate capacity decision. Where the existing distribution needs changes, panel and service work can be discussed in that wider context.
What to send
Provide the location, existing equipment, proposed models, available drawings and your backup or energy goals. Identify any other installer already involved. PDI Electric can review the electrical scope and the information needed for the next stage. Incentive eligibility and financing should be verified separately with the current program or provider.
